“Odd. This only has a USB-2 data transfer rate of 480 Mbps? (Here and Apple site). It i a USB-C cable, which is supposed to transfer at rates up to 20 times faster than USB-2, up to 5Gbps. Odd.”

• Data transfer rates are determined by the electronics within the cable connectors themselves and NOT the charging block. For power delivery, this cable is good. For data transfer between devices, this cable is slow.

• usb-c is just the connector type. data speed is related to the generation of usb (2, 3, 3.1, etc). both usb-A and usb-c can use either connector
