• Different charger. This is going to be the new MacBook Air/Pro charger from now on. The previous was MagSafe 2, which had a middle period with Thunderbolt/USB C. The new MagSafe 3 adapters only work with 2021 models, and likely the upcoming M2 models.

• ONLY These Mac laptops can charge with MagSafe 3: MacBook Air introduced in 2022. 14-inch MacBook Pro introduced in 2021 or later. 16-inch MacBook Pro introduced in 2021 or later.
