• You should focus on storage, not model, then (assuming you want them on the device - not just streaming from the cloud). If you are just streaming, then storage doesn't matter as much. That said, NEVER buy the lowest storage model. You will inevitably run out of space... After that, it's really about price, screen size, and weight. If you're not going to use Screen Mirroring or an adapter to display on a larger device, I would recommend against the mini. If you ARE going to display on a TV or monitor, then the mini is great. :)

• Depends how long the movies. 256 GB is good size. Of course, the more GB the better but cost $$.

• If you really want to hold a lot without worry and don’t need a huge screen (for portability) the iPad mini 256 is perfect. You’ll be able to hold dozens of movies and shows in 4K. Even more if they are SD/HD.
