we just did this a month back its a new payment plan for the iPad added to your old payment plan or bill. Both plans will finalize at their original times separately from each other.

Yes. In my experience, Best Buy, with my permission, accessed my current Verizon account and was able to swap out the old iPad with a new one, and allow me to continue with my existing plan.
