• Yes, generation 3 is newer but the reason generation 2 is so much more expensive is because it has better things in it like noise canceling and better speakers but, generation 3 airpods are still really nice so if your looking for newer airpods that are cheaper these are the way to go

• The 2nd gen has active noise cancellation and tge 3rd doesn’t.
