no according to apple you can do trade in for the airpods but can sell it to third party i believe.

Apple does not take back airpods while best buy does. Best buy may give a small offer of 50 or below for non working airpods as they would have to fix them to put them back on the shelf. Apple does not repurpose them at its hard to disinfect and perfect them to their standards.

you can try to trade them in, but most likely they will give you nothing for them. My 2nd gen airpods still worked and i didnt recieve any credit for them.
