These are used. Comes with case but no box. Additionally, if the previous owner did not unlink their Apple ID from the Airpods before returning to Best Buy, these are unable to be linked to a new Apple ID. Would not recommend these as a gift due those reasons.

We have purchased both new and refurbished from BestBuy without any issues with the items. The refurbished pair came in the same condition as the new pair, but the packaging was obviously opened, so as a gift it depends on how picky the person would care about a refurbished pair. The ear pieces we received looked clean and new, so we had no concerns with them. We have the Geek Squad warranty on our account and BestBuy has honored all warranties without hassles.
