• It can replace it if you like. However; I use mine paired in different rooms so it really extends my functionality. You can sync your music across them or have separate items playing on them.

Larger HomePod has more tweeters, a high-excursion woofer, and spatial awareness (can detect things in the area like walls so that it can make adjustments to sound direction).
