If it’s plugged in, it’s always on/in standby. That’s how it’s meant to function, being a smart speaker. If your intent is to cut the power to it, remotely, because you don’t want the government spying on you, then yeah that would work. The plug isn’t going to recognize it or treat it with any more functionality than turning the power on/off.

it is compatible with anything and its cheap, you should buy 6 for the best sound
