“Can the HomePod pair with other music apps like Spotify or SoundCloud or does it need to be Apple Music. If I don’t have Apple Music is it worth it to still buy the HomePod?”

It works with Spotify, but not as nicely as it does with Apple Music.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can use other services via AirPlay 2, but you won’t be able to tell Siri to play music from those services. One you start playing them from your phone, tablet or computer you can use Siri to pause, play, skip, and adjustment volume. If you are a iOS, macOS and/or tvOS user, Airplay is an awesome way to play media throughout your home or office. If you’re not fully in on Apple’s ecosystem you may find some limitations a little frustrating though.
