• The iPad will work without Wi-Fi and you can use any apps that don't require an internet connection. However, things like downloading new apps, using messaging, social media, browsing the internet or using any apps that update data real time would require you to have Wi-Fi.

• yes, if you want the internet to work in your house It requires wi-fi to hook up to the internet anywhere you go The + cellular models can get it off of cell towers, but require their own data plans to do so (from whatever provider you choose).

• no, but you must be in an area where is there is a hotspot or where wifi is available free. eg coffee shop restraunt etc. or open wifi access. Do not do banking etc in an open hotspot. If you sign up for and pay for wifi at your house or apt. it becomes a secure spot which is locked and prtected.
