It kind of depends on the data plan you have, if you have unlimited data and you’re able to share your hotspot then no you don’t actually need cellular on your tablet on the other hand if you ever plan to travel without your phone and there’s no access to Wi-Fi then yes you will need cellular if you can’t find anywhere that’s offering Wi-Fi service but more than likely you will always have your phone with you. I’m not an expert but this is what I have realized although I always use Wi-Fi because most of the time I’m home but I took the cellular feature just in case I ever needed it it’s only like 100 or $150 more with the cellular feature
