GBs tell you how much space for storage you have. Things like photos, music, movies, some apps, and games can take up a lot of room on your device. If you don't really download much, and only surf the net or stream music and movies only, then you don't need a lot of storage. However, 64GB fills up faster than you think, and storage can't be upgraded later. If you can afford the extra $100+, get the 256GB. Unless you're a super downloader, that should be more than enough storage.

It means the amount of space available on the tablet for apps and games,music..ect.

the difference between 64 and 256 is that 256gb is 4x the amount of storage space compared to the 64gb. GV means gigabytes
