This questions is more suitable for Verizon not BestBuy but after you make all 24 payments (100% of the device) the device is yours.

You can keep it or even trade it in on a new one, then your monthly payment would start again if you buy a new one. Payment goes down after paid off. I got the new phone and my husband took my old I phone 8 and we traded his 7 in on my phone.
