• I tried this today with my Moms phone and yes it holds well. I currently have the clear case but it is slippery and I do drop my phone easily. So I tried hers which has the Red silicone case and it works the same as the clear on the MagSafe car clip by Belkin.

• I have not tried this, because I do not have a magnetic car clip, but I would think so. I think that is one of the reasons to have a MagSafe case so that you can use your phone with MagSafe accessories without having to remove the case.
