I believe they can, but depending upon how much content you have on your IPhone 6, could take a while. I backed up my old phone to ICloud. When I got home with my new phone and WiFi, upon power up my new iPhone asked if I wanted to transfer from my old phone to the new phone. Worked great for me.

I know this for a fact because I tried it several times too in the past but I was always given the same response and also they have very slow WiFi because of too many gadgets connected to it. You will be instructed to transfer it yourself when you get home ( hope all your data are stored in the cloud )
