How do data and apps get transferred to new phone? null

If you backup your phone to icloud you can transfer everything right from the cloud by signing in to your account on your new phone. Or you can download iTunes on your computer and do a manual backup of your old phone and do a restore on your new phone.

You can restore backup from an older iPhone backup via iCloud or from a computer.
