the iPhone 12 is available unlocked through Apple.com for purchase at full retail price. The US carries what you to be on their plan (due to the promotions) for at least one to two months, then you can pay the balance off and are able to use it overseas. If you’re buying a gift, then get it directly from Apple since you won’t be opening the packaging.
