No, you can upgrade it anywhere as long as it has T-Mobile carrier even if you go to T-Mobile they have different deals and if you go to Best Buy they have different deals but they do have T-Mobile carrier. That’s how I got my deal from Best Buy but T-Mobile carrier.

Please try again later.If you move to T mobile with your own phone then yes you can trade in through best buy but if you move to T mobile with their locked phone then you need to first pay full amount to T mobile and then you can trade in through best by. I already paid my previous phone price to T mobile and available that deal through best buy and T mobile doesn’t care about as long as they have their phone money fully paid
