A two year contract means you must keep the service for 2 years. At any point you are able to switch phones and even switch up options on the plan. If you should want to cancel the plan early you will face a penalty, you will find the details of the penalty in the small print of the contract. But most sales associate (at least the ones at Best Buy) know the details in and out and will gladly explain all the rules and details to you.

It means you have to have an account with a service company like at&t, sprint, verizon, etc. They will let you call or text.

Means you are obligated to the bill for 2 years!
