No, these phones are carrier locked to total wireless. You will need to purchase one year of service from them in order for them to unlock the phone so you could take it wherever you want. I knew this when I bought it however I wasn’t intending on using it as a phone I wanted an iPod like streaming device. My carrier is T-Mobile and I already had a phone set up with that service
