A:AnswerWould cost a good bit more not being on plan. Best to buy on plan and then pay off in a few months if they will agree to that. I bought one previously that way.
A:AnswerYes. Basically, Best Buy is giving you the phone at their advertised price, and you can put as much or as little down up front as you want. The remainder you pay over 24 or 30 months. You can't pay any extra each month to pay it off early, but you can pay the balance whenever you want. So for me, the phone cost 300. I could have paid part of it up front and financed the rest, but I chose to put nothing down, just had to pay tax up front, and financed it for 24 months at 12.50 per month. That 12.50 is now locked as the only amount I'm allowed to pay per month, but if after a few payments I decide I don't want any more monthly payments, I can pay the remaining balance and be done with it.
A:AnswerVerizon gave a line discount of $25 off the new $40. Also I paid the phone off after 14 days and it went to $15 for month to month line access.
