I have an iPhone 6 that I purchased outright from Apple. I use AT&T prepaid here in the U.S., but I've put in SIM cards from France, U.K., Spain, and just recently, India's Vodafone. I buy the prepaid SIM cards that can be topped off as data is used. Easy process. I just carry a paper clip to get the SIM slot to open. I assume these newer models do the same.
