• Yes the battery case plugs into your phone and then you can plug the xs cord into your case allowing both to charge together. It says You can also remove case and charge separate but I haven’t had a reason yet to do so.

• Yes it does fit the case, also, which can be charged by itself, or while on the phone. You can even leave the case on the phone using a single lightning cable which will charge both the case and the phone together. Once charged, the battery case will use its charge first before the phone uses its own charge.
