Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I spent about 1 month called Apple 4 times and was told that I had to have the original computer that I downloaded my music from to download my music on my new iPod 7gen so I had to create a new account and spend two days downloading all my music
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have Apple Music yet and I can access all of my music on the new iPod. In the process of ripping 1,000 CD's in to iTunes and it's all playable. I think you have to have Apple Music to purchase new music for your iPod...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My understanding of the situation is no. You can transfer your music without a charge being added.

The only thing you have to do is update and change the model in you iTunes account/file on your PC so you don't loose all your music related to your previous iPod. I am NOT tech savvy at all so I Google how to do that and got a step by step instruction on how to do that. I also called Apple support to make sure I was doing it correctly as I have about 20 years of music on my old one. They were very helpful. Hope this answers your question and helps. It really is a nice unit I can even facetime my sisters with my apple icloud email that I created. I don't have an apple phone or number so it goes by the icloud email I created.
