Great replacement for my dead iPod Classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was rocking an iPod Classic that was modified to have an SSD installed for seven years and loved the device until the battery finally succumbed to age. I tried getting a replacement, but the screen was starting to go out as well, and I knew that I needed a replacement that could store the amount of music I collected over the years, but at the same time could be played without the reliance of iTunes, the bane of my existence. Long story short, got FE File Explorer Pro ($4.99 on the App Store) was able to SSH directly into the hard drive of the iPod Touch, and was able to copy over all of my music with minimal hassle (had some file names that got too long and had to edit them before transferring). The music will not appear in Apple Music, however; FE File Explorer Pro comes with the ability to play many different types of music files, from MP3 and FLAC to even M4A and M4B audiobooks. Even though Apple has painstakingly put iOS 12.3 onto this device, I removed all the extra apps that I was not interested in to solely leave it as a music device, and it's able to do a fantastic job at that. The device has a fantastic battery life, the bluetooth connection is strong, the screen is vibrant despite its low pixel count - for what I use it for, it's perfect. A bit pricey, but still worth it.

Love the latest Generation Ipod touch.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm one of the few people out there who loves to keep his music and movies separate from his phone. I usually have the same media (podcasts, music, movies) available on both my Samsung Galaxy 10+ and my Ipod Touch. I just prefer to use my Ipod for media primarily. I previously had a 4th generation with 64GB. Now with my new improved model with 256GB memory, I have plenty of room. Perfect for what I've always wanted. I especially love that it's the same size as previous models. I didn't need to purchase a new case. My old case fits perfectly. Now I'm not sure if I'd ever get an Iphone as I prefer android phones. But at least with this Ipod touch I can still get used to the IOS operating system. If your on the fence on this purchase, it's worth it. I'd done my research and had waited. Glad I did.

Best Substitute iPod “Classic” !
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the iPod Touch 7th Gen - 256gb - to put my movies and music on. My fear is that they’ll do away with the iPod Touch in the future and I like having my entertainment on a separate device. My iPhone XS Max is 512gb, but if I watch a movie or two after going to bed, I’ll suck the juice up and for fear of a power outage or unforeseen emergency, I never want to compromise the power for entertainment purposes. My iPad and iPhone charge at night and the Touch charges by day. The size is perfect for my purchased movies which I really only need listen to for I know the scenes by heart. I’m asleep in no time.

It’s an average in my opinion
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great to finally have enough room for my music collection. It’s a iPhone 4 with no calling abilities. I don’t know if it’s the iPod touch or iTunes but something is crap. It doesn’t download all my music and album covers. Keeps giving me -54 error. I literally have to check every song to make sure it made it on to the iPod touch, which is ridiculous!! Even just downloading 1 album at a time. They sell the album but yet won’t let me put the album covers on some albums. And still leaves a song or 2 off that I still can’t get on to the iPod touch. For $399.00 I shouldn’t be going through this. You would think Apple would fix this already. Love my old iPod Classic never had this problem. This is a big problem when I’m downloading 80 thousand songs. Fix the -54 errors!!!

FINALLY! A 256GB iPod... Better Late Than Never
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 256 GB of storage space is AMAZING! I have a ton of music/audio, movies and TV shows, so it's great to have all of the space. It also has great speed and audio quality! I've had mine for almost a month and I haven't had any technical issues with it. The only personal issue that I have with it is that some of the installed apps you cannot delete. I only intend to use my iPod as an mp3 player. So I have no need or interest in having the apps like Messages or Wallets on it. They're just unnecessary and, even if it's just a little bit, they take up space.

Hooray for the iPod touch...!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After paying for an expensive Christmas, I was finally able gift myself this iPod which I had been eyeing for some time. I promptly freed up space in my iPad mini, which maxed out at 128gb. My iPod easily holds my entire music collection and all my photos. All this in a device small enough to fit in my pocket! Most satisfied with this!

Q: QuestionWith 256GB how many songs can you store with this iPod
Asked by Dutch.
- A:Answer Using the Apple iTunes application and utilizing the Apple "lossless" encoding, I currently have almost 4,000 songs on my iPod Touch (7th Gen). Much of my song library (around 70%) consists of songs that have been imported from my CD collection. The rest were downloaded from iTunes. This is only consuming 90 GB of storage and this includes the "base" applications such as Numbers, Keynote, iMovie. I also have about 40 videos (varying lengths from iPhone and other camera sources) and 1,200 photos. The Apple "lossless" import encoding has the best audio quality for this device and manages to have a decent balance between file size and audio quality. The file size for the song will also vary by song length. You can import CD audio tracks directly from a CD for the highest audio resolution, however this will significantly reduce the number of songs you can place on the iPod. (Been there, done that...) A "typical" 3-5 minute song imported directly from a CD will be around 35-50 MB compared to 4-5 MB using the Apple "lossless" compression. This is the 4th iPod that I have purchased. The last iPod was the 160 GB with a rotating hard disk and I had that one filled up halfway pretty quickly. Not to mention knowing that the hard disk would one day eventually fail. The screen area for the 7th generation iPod is really nice as well. Additionally the audio processing for the 7th generation iPod has improved (at least to my ears) as I am hearing more details in the songs that I had on previous iPods and am noticing really nice staging/channel separation. Hope this helps.
