No, Apple wants you to buy their Apple TV device which cost a ton of money. You can’t even use this to broadcast Apple TV. Once in a while it will work but it’s such a pain. That’s why I don’t bother with the Apple TV. They want to pay a lot more money for something you don’t shouldn’t need

When you use an Apple TV you can mirror your Apple device to your tv, BUT I bought an Apple TV for my trailer so when I’m camping to watch shows on my phone & iPads to tv, they said it worked. It did not!!! You must have wifi and internet as Apple requires you to confirm it’s yours. With this adaptor you don’t use Apple TV just an HDMI cable plugged from your device direct to your tv. And it works Great.
