Some TV services do not let you stream through adapters, but will let you watch it directly on your device. I suspect to stop you from having "viewing parties"

If the app doesn't support it natively then you can just mirror the screen from your phone and it usually does just fine that way. This is how I was able to watch the Olympics on our TVs at work.

I bought two 25' HDMI cables from amazon for $13!!! didn't have internet at home but using my internet service via my cell phone was able to stream many tv shows and movies. You can also charge your iPhone simultaneously.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this adapter allows you to connect an apple device via and HDMI cable to an external monitor. It does not give you any ability to connect with anything over wifi. If the Dish Anywhere app allows you to see your content over wifi, this is great. You MIGHT be able to then send this output to an external screen, HOWEVER, most content over wifi apps have digital rights managment (DRM) that will keep you from piping the content out to an external screen. The DRM is in place to keep you from gaming the licensing / content. You can try it, but it might or might not work (80% against). Your better bet is to see if your dish anywhere app is available on the new apple TV. If so, this WILL work.
