“I bought this adapter so I could stream on an old tv but it won’t let me watch Netflix, etc. It will mirror my screen but when I go to watch the show it wont play. Do you know what to do to fix that?”

I’m not sure, but you Amazon may be sensing your old TV as a non-identified user. So you might have go to your account and identify it (if you can) as an authorized TV.
