Does this support amazon prime and acorn? null

If you are away from home and do not want to use a questionable internet service, You can connect your adapter to the tv’s hdmi port and have your iphones or iPads content on the tv screen. As long as your iPhone or iPad can display the content, you can access it.

I suppose the answer is yes, but that’s not really the proper question to ask for this device, what it does is it goes from your iPhone to an HDMI cable, which in turn plugs into your other device which uses an HDMI iNput, and Viola, your iPhone screen is transferred to that other device and you can go from there.
