• Yes. I got mine for my iPhone 13 pro to use with my wired EarPods that I had used for my iPhone 6.

• Apple adapters work for mike. "Identical" Amazon, noName and eBay ones often do not. They may get audio out, and often bypass license royalties by trying to use BT rather than Lightning with tiny BT DAC. Debugging off brands may be difficult.
