You are right about hem looking up before you buy, the one I was looking at was a 2016 model when I called customer service to find out.

Please try again later.serial # will be needed to determine date of mfg; models being retailed here are Early 2015....This was something I neglected as 2017 models are configurable with up to a 512gb ssd. Of Course this will come at a price comparable to entry level builds of the MacBook Pro.
