• It is connected through smart connector. The magic keyboard does not have Bluetooth or battery. Once you put the iPad on the keyboard, it is ready to go.

• It connects through the "Smart Connector" on back of the iPad. Therefore, it will not function without direct attachment to the iPad.

• The keyboard and trackpad are powered and communicate by 3 pins on the back of the iPad. If the pins are not touching or the iPad is not in the case, then the keyboard case will automatically turn off.

• No. The keyboard is not connected via Bluetooth. It uses the Smart Connector on the back of the ipad. It only works with the iPad Pro with FaceID.
