I feel like I answered this already but if not: The easiest way to find out which version of the ApplePencil will work with your iPad, is how it’s charged. If it’s a lightening charger: 1st generation ApplePencil If it’s a USB-C charger: (during 2018) 2nd generation ApplePencil will work.
