I have the ipad pro 10.5 but I put it in an otter box will the pencil still work null

I'm pretty sure the new Apple Pencil requires one of the new late 2018 iPads that have no HOME button. I don't see any way to charge it without the proper iPad.

I’ve bought a case that did not work although it was for iPad Pro so I would make sure it doesn’t not cover the sides that the Pencil pairs to or else it will knock it off like mine did. I had to take my case off. Eventually replaced case, was a huge hassle.

Unless you have the 3rd gen iPad Pro’s, the 2nd gen Apple Pencil will not work.

No, this pencil will not work. It has different upgraded Bluetooth pairing. The old Apple Pencil will not work with the newer iPad models, and vice versa. I was disappointed with Apple for this inconvenience. I have an old Apple Pencil, and used it regularly. I just purchased the 2018 iPad Pro, and cannot use it on the newer model. So, I had to go purchase this new pencil, to be able to continue using the pencil in my daily needs.

The second generation pencil will not work with the 10.5”. I don’t know if the first generation Apple Pencil which works with the 10.5” iPad Pro will work in an Otterbox case.
