Hey there! The only Apple Pencil that will work with an iPad Air 2nd generation is the Apple Pencil (1st Generation). The 2nd generation Apple Pencil is not compatible with the iPad Air 2nd generation, as it requires a magnetic charging strip on the side of the iPad, which the iPad Air 2nd generation does not have. The 1st generation Apple Pencil is still a great stylus, and it's much more affordable than the 2nd generation. It also has a longer battery life than the 2nd generation. If you're looking for a stylus to use with your iPad Air 2nd generation, I recommend the 1st generation Apple Pencil. It's a great all-around stylus that will work perfectly with your iPad Air 2nd generation. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. :D

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have magnet on the side of your ipad then 2nd gen. If you don’t have magnet then 1st gen. Main difference is that pencil gen 2 charges through magnet and 1st needs to be plugged into lighting port.
