Hey! The only iPad pen that will work with the 5th generation iPad is the Apple Pencil (1st Generation). The 2nd generation Apple Pencil is not compatible with the 5th generation iPad, as it requires a magnetic charging strip on the side of the iPad, which the 5th generation iPad does not have. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 5th Generation iPad is not compatible with either of the Apple Pencils. However, there are third party styluses that work with the iPad 5th Gen. The pencils from Adonit are great alternatives.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The iPad 5th generation does not support either the 1st or 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Here is a definitive list of all iPads that are compatible with the Apple Pencil: Apple Pencil (1st generation): * iPad mini (5th generation) * iPad (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th generation) * iPad Air (3rd generation) * iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st and 2nd generation) * iPad Pro 10.5-inch * iPad Pro 9.7-inch Apple Pencil (2nd generation): iPad mini (6th generation) iPad Air (4th and 5th generation) iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generation) iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation) You might consider a third-party option (a stylus not manufactured and sold by Apple) if you're looking for a stylus for a 5th-generation iPad.
