No, it can only be charged from the side of the iPad. There is absolutely no other way to charge it.

Unfortunately, there isn't a product that can charge 2nd gen Apple pencil separately.

But there are many cases that allow you to store the pencil while on the iPad Pro being charged.

Unfortunately there is not. At least none to my knowledge. However there are a number of iPad Pro cases that have come out in the last six months that have very secure holders.

I bought a case that has a space for the pencil. It charges that way.

Most iPad Pro cases don’t require toy to remove the case to charge the pencil. Pencil 2nd gen only works with iPad Pro.
