How do you know when the pen is charging or charged null

There’s a % indicator on your screen

If you look at the sides of the iPad, one of those sides should have an oval on it. If you put your Apple Pencil on the groove with the flat side down, it will magnetically connect to the iPad and show you on the screen the battery percentage of the iPad.

It will display in the front of you tablet/Mac

the pen is magnetic and connects to side of magnetized iPad. So when you put it on the side a message on the iPad pops up and tells you the percentage.
