Unlocked means the phone can be connected to any carrier anywhere you take it. I purchased my phone in the us and can take it to Barbados and connect it to an eSIM by Digicel. If u purchase a phone for example in Brazil that’s unlocked you can bring it here to theUS and get Tmobile or whatever plan you would like. Vice versa
