• You need a SIM card in order for you to call and take pictures and use the internet and most of the things. However I think if you just want to use the calculator you won’t need a SIM card for that :)

• You require a SIM card for using most of the features on the iPhone. However, programs like calculator, alarm clock work without a SIM card.
