“Sorry I just want to clarify. i saw "not compatible with Verizon (CDMA)" and then 2 different answers. I have a SIM card and use an Iphone with Verizon now. If i buy this refurb phone will I be able to use it by just putting SIM card into new phone?”

Whoever answered this question previously is incorrect. By using your sim card from another I-phone from verizon/sprint or any other carrier that claims that are not cdma compatible will work as long as that sim card came in a phone from tgat carrier.
