However, I’m not sure when Apple started making their iPhones “Universal” (meaning that it works on all US major carrier networks. There used to be one kind of iPhone for an AT&T type network, and another for a Verizon type network. They did (or maybe still do?), use different cell technologies (I forget the acronyms at the moment), but a quick Google should tell you about the two types of technologies that were (or are?) still used. I’ve always been with Consumer Cellular, on a fully purchased iPhone, locked to the AT&T network. This has confused even the “mobile managers” at SOME Best Buy stores (even to the point of REFUSING to take my money!). However, I’m typing this on a fully purchased “AT&T locked” Xs Max iPhone (purchased at a different Besy Buy store on El Camino, with a more “knowledgeable”manager That’s the extent of my knowledge on the subject (other than Consumer Cellular, with no contract, was the cheapest MONTHLY ISP).
