• No, you can't control your MacBook with this remote but...You CAN use your iPhone/iPad/ iPod to control the PowerPoint presentation on your MacBook.

• This remote is really designed for Apple TV. It will not work with newer MacBooks. I have a 2016 model and it would not work with it. Better off getting the Keynote App from the Apple store for your iPhone and using that to control Keynote on your MacBook.
