“How the heck do you even charge this thing?? Standard Lightning cord only fits one way - the opposite from charging an iPhone. Is there yet ONE MORE THING, another proprietary connector, I need to buy from Apple, just to use this remote? Help please!!!”

The standard lightening connectors like what you use for AirPods and iPhones won’t work for this remote. You’ll have to get a USB-C cord, which I bought mine for I think $6 and it wasn’t an apple brand either. Works just fine
