• Where did you hear that it has a 2 year battery life? As far as I was aware it is powered by the iPad itself, which is very minimal anyway.

• The Apple Smart Keyboard uses the iPad Pro's smart connector so a bluetooth connection is not involved. This also means that you don't need to charge the keyboard.

• There is no battery in the keyboard it gets the power from the iPad through the smart connector.
