I wouldn’t recommend putting a case on if using the Smart Keyboard, the last one I had got stretched out pretty good due to the extra thickness the case added. I’d suggest going the skin route instead

Otter box makes a great case for this with a very small elastic holder on the right side so the Apple Pencil can be kep with the iPad.

It’s a case made by under armor gear. It has a detachable front cover to fit the keyboard. Probably run you $70
