No, this is not a lightning adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been seeking the answer to this question recently. If your macbook air has a 3.5mm headphone jack (1/8"), then no. Something i read about the headphones with lightning ends require a trickle of power whereas the 3.5mm would not pass the power through. Found this after a quick search "he Lightning earphones require power to convert digital audio outputs to analog signals into the earphones unlike the 3.5mm earphones which don’t need to at all, so the headphone jack is not powered on any device that does have it. This means Lightning earphones, even if you could find an adapter, wouldn’t ever work on a headphone jack." https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-use-Apple-Lightning-earphones-on-a-3-5-mm-port-Is-there-an-adapter-for-a-3-5-mm-Lightning-port?no_redirect=1
