“What is the difference in the Ram size, 128 GB being the biggest. Are videos stored there or does the larger size mean better resolution? I have a 2nd generation Apple TV(I think) and it always stops playing after about 10 minutes.”

Sounds like you should upgrade. The 128GB is for storage not the ram. The ram pertains to the new chip A15 bionic chip and it is 4GB. If your device is shutting down after 10 minutes. Then you need or should upgrade to the new Apple TV. I have the 128GB model and so far it is head and shoulders better than the previous devices. By the way I have owned all the previous versions.

Now as far as Storage Space, you can download Apps from the App Store from games an other Applications. As well as store your photos and videos from your other iOS devices. Or if you have purchased movies/TV shows thru iTunes. You can store them on the device as well, so you don’t have to stream them for faster access. Or if you use other streaming services that allow you to download movies and shows. The Bigger Storage space doesn’t mean better Resolution. You can still buy the cheaper version with less storage space and still have the same resolution.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi , I have 3 2021 Apple TV 4k’s (32 and 64 gig) and they stream perfect as long as my ….. 1. ISP (internet service provider) does not hiccup 2. The hops to get to my stream does not get bogged down. 3. Where my streams are coming from is good. The ram in Apple TVs is only needed to this day for game storage, not saying apps don’t take or need a little them selves. If you have 5 gig free or more (it’s a lot) ram is not your problem. If you don’t have the 4K last years 2021 model or need more ram as I stated above, then go with the 2022 4K Apple TV 128 gig version as it supports thread and has Ethernet and is only $20 more
