“I'm an American living in South America. In order to stream NF or Amazon from the US I need a vpn on my computer. Recently Chromecast, Firestick,have all had buffering or delay issues. I've done a lot of tuning. Should I try AppleTV now?”

I will say that I have used the Roku and Amazon devices and neither is as fast at loading content as my Apple TV. But you may also want to try different VPN services first to see if that makes a difference.
